Help sourcing a machine..

Beitrag von gyraf »

Hi Group,

My friend Tim Campbell is desperately looking for a lapping machine - his old "Struers" is not enough anymore.

In English, this is called a "Desktop flat-lapping machine" - it's a horisontal rotating lapping/polishing plate, on which you place the parts to be lapped and some grinding paste

It would be preferable (economically) if we could find a used machine, but for some reason, these types of machines seems rare in Europe (in the US they are common and available, but shipping costs makes it a no-deal) - or we don't know how to properly search for them. Knowing German industrial tradition we KNOW that there must be many of them around, we just can't find them....

The questions are:

- What would you call a machine like this for a search in German?

- Do any of you know of decent ex-used-machine sellers in Germany, that may have such machinery?

- Any other ideas?

Jakob E.

How about "Tischpoliermaschine"? If you google Poliermaschine you will get hits for car polishing machines only.

Normaly it is called "Läppmaschine". But I didn't find a "Tisch Läppmaschine".
Only the bigger ones I used during my practical course.

Hope this help a little bit.

I found this when searching for "Schleifmaschine" in the category: >Business & Industrie > Medizin & Labor on ebay:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Montasupal-Nass- ... 2ed5d77250

It has a 380V 16A power plug. Continuously speed regulation. Timer Control.
I don't know anything about these machines but the text also says that the workpiece rotates on his own axis during the polishing/grinding process. (not sure if this is an advantage or disadvantage :blackeye:) Item can be shipped with a truck company.

I can buy it, let it ship to me and you could pick it up when you go to the musikmesse 2015 if you want. :)
