Metal Technology GMBH
Hi Group,
I'm trying to find a "second source" for the 19" enclosures I use - my supplier recently changed to an inferior quality front panels (3mm in stead of the original 4mm aluminium) which does not work well in our production.
The boxes in question looks like these:
I have been informed (as a guess) that the OEM possibly is "Metal Technology GMBH"
http://www.metal-technology.de
Do anyone have further information about this company?
Any ideas about how they should be approached?
All the best,
Jakob Erland

Hello Jakob, sorry, can't tell you about Metal Technologies, don't know them. But maybe I can recommend you a different supplier. Do you actually assemble the rack mount chassis yourselves after buying the individual parts (chassis, front panel, etc.) from different sources or are you looking for an all-in-one supplier?
Robeshop has a decent quality at reasonable prices.

robeshop gets all the enclosures and frontpanels from "metal technology"
I ordered there several times... the quality of the enclosures is pretty good, but the frontpanels they offer for the enclosures are lacking quality.
they are not cutted very acurate and they have marks from the anodizing process, especially the black panels.
but I think if you need some good panels they can alo make some from your specs...
another alternative could be http://www.modushop.biz/ in italy...
I can't say something about the quality but the next time I will order there...

Hi Jacob,
I ordered two cases from modushop for 2LA2 and D-AOC. The slim line has got a backpanel in Aluminium two, so metal work is quite easy. You can even engrave the backpanel. They are mounted modular, for example:
Format: 2 Unit
1x Frontal Panel in alluminium 4mm oxidized silver rack 19"
1x Back Panel in alluminium 3 mm oxidized black
2x Flanks in section of alluminium10 mm oxidized black
2x Covers in metal painted black anti-scratch
Width: Structure 435 mm rack 483 mm internal 415 mm
Depth: 170 mm Height: 80 mm
Weight: 2,3 KG
The other one I´ve got is:
Format: 3 unit
1x Frontal Panel in aluminium 4 mm oxidised silver
1x Back in metal painted black
2x Flanks in metal black painted anti-scratch
2x Covers in black metal painted anti-scratch
Width: Structure 435 mm rack 483 mm internal 430 mm
Depth: 300 mm Height: 120 mm
Weight: 4,4 KG
Here the holes for IEC and fuse holder are already drilled (punched). Vented covers are standard.
All in all very nice and high quality cases. Price is really exceptional. They delivered the cases in between three days

Frank.
